To every continent
As the clarity and brilliance of the natural light attract hundreds of painters to ‘Our Cornwall’, so the melodies, stories and iconic sounds have made a unique contribution worldwide.
Cornish men and women have taken their joy of song and story, their delight in dialect and pride in performance to every continent.
The miners, the fishermen and the farmers have all added their unique voices and distinct characters to the kaleidoscope of colour, contrast, warmth and flavour of these enduring harmonies.
The sounds, the scents and sights are part of Cornwall’s magnetic charm. In ‘The Voices of Cornwall: Kernow Through Story and Song’, a ‘Rainbow of Voices’ come together to prove that Cornwall truly is a treasure.
– Douglas Williams MBE
To the fishermen
All profits from the sale of Volume 2 go to the Fishermen’s Mission in Cornwall. They are the only fishermen’s charity that provides emergency support alongside practical, financial, spiritual, and emotional care. They help all fishermen, active or retired, and their families.
Note: Cornwall, in Cornish, is Kernow. Cornwall has its own flag (see CD label) and language. It is the homeland of the Cornish people and is recognised as one of the Celtic nations, retaining a distinct cultural identity that reflects its history.
